I’m a bit of a Campari addict when the sun is in the sky - or was until I was given a bottle of DISPENSE. From now on it’ll only be DISPENSE. A much more complex and totally mor... view moreeish flavour which comes through clearly in Negronis and with Soda Water. view less
I love Amaro. I have tried quite a few, always asking for the local amaro as I have travelled around Italy. Amaro Averna from Sicily is my favourite, as it is for many Italians. Na... view moreturally I was a little sceptical that a good amaro could be produced in England. However, the Asterleys have done such an amazing job with their vermouth that I must trust them and try their amaro.
I am happy I did. It has a terrific balance beteween the sweetness and the bitterness — all the while bringing that warm, contented feeling one gets when sipping a good amaro. And this is a good one — right up there with the best of the Italians.
I recommend this as one of the best ways to finish a meal. Sit back, sip the Asterleys' amaro (I prefer it without ice) and let the complex herbal flavours lull you to contentment. — James Robertson view less
